DATA SPOTLIGHT: Denver International Airport

Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA - Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot on Denver International Airport, where United Airlines is set for a major expansion adding both new destinations and boosting frequencies in existing markets.

The US major is already the largest operator at Denver International airport, but it will strengthen its position after Denver City Council unanimously approved an amendment granting it access to 24 more gates at the airport. This expansion will ultimately allow United to increase departures from 500 to 700 per day by 2025.

The amendment has authorised 12 new gates - 11 on Concourse A which are being added as part of a USD1.5 billion expansion at the airport and one new gate on Concourse B. United currently leases gates across Concourses A, B and C and the approval will now allow them to consolidate their space in the airport.
