DATA SPOTLIGHT: China Southern Airlines

This year The Blue Swan Daily will feature some of the leading airlines, airports and country markets for air travel. Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA – Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot, we look at China Southern Airlines, one of the state controlled carriers in China.

The airline is one of a few in the world right now that has been growing its operations as China appears to have effectively overcome COVID-19. This is mainly just in the domestic market currently as there are fears that nationals returning from abroad could cause another spike. As such, while China Southern is reintroducing many international flights, these are operating at a restricted frequency, but it is boosting its activity at Beijing’s Daxing International Airport, supporting its main hub at Guangzhou’s Baiyun International Airport.
