DATA SPOTLIGHT: Aer Lingus

This year The Blue Swan Daily will feature some of the leading airlines, airports and country markets for air travel. Here, using the extensive profile insights available to CAPA – Centre for Aviation members to deliver a data snapshot, we look at Aer Lingus, one of many airlines that is benefiting from the range and performance-enhancements being delivered by the Airbus A321LR.

The Republic of Ireland flag carrier now operates four A321LRs and deploys them mainly on trans-Atlantic services to North America, but their adaptability also enables them to also be sustainably deployed on its European network. They have been mainly deployed out of Dublin, but the type is also now being used out of Shannon and plans are currently being considered to potentially establish non-stop trans-Atlantic connections out of Cork.

ABOUT
Headquartered in Dublin, Aer Lingus is the national airline of the Republic of Ireland and has been publicly owned since its flotation in Oct-2006. Aer Lingus became a wholly owned subsidiary of the International Airline Group (IAG), after securing a 98.05% stake under a EUR1.36 billion deal in 2015. A former member of oneworld, Aer Lingus is now a semi-low cost carrier that offers international and domestic services using Boeing 757 as well as A330 and A320 equipment. The carrier also utilises ATR aircraft on regional sectors across Ireland and the UK, under the Aer Lingus Regional brand by franchisee Stobart Air.
