Da Nang Airport and Nagoya Chubu Centrair International Airport signed an MoU to launch nonstop daily service between the two airports in 4Q2019 (Viet Nam News, 06-Feb-2019). Under the agreement, the airports will also facilitate two chartered services between Da Nang and Nagoya in May-2019 and Aug-2019 to promote the planned scheduled service. Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific currently operate nonstop services from Da Nang to Tokyo Narita and Osaka, while Vietnam Airlines operates up to 70 Vietnam-Japan frequencies weekly. Japan's Foreign Ministry also plans to open a consulate in Da Nang to help develop tourism and business links.
