Corsair CEO: Low cost long haul a ‘fragile’ economic model

Corsair president and CEO Pascal de Izaguirre argued the carrier does not see itself in competition with carriers such as LEVEL and Norwegian on long haul routes (Europe1, 25-Sep-2019). He said Corsair will not get involved in an “endless race” for the lowest price, arguing low-cost long haul is a “fragile” economic model and is “untenable” in the long term. Instead, the carrier will look to differentiate itself by establishing an aggressive quality/price offer to avoid the competitive challenges brought about through price sensitivity.
