Cobham Aviation Services and Qantas Group enter Boeing 717 fleet agreement

21 May, 2020

Cobham Aviation Services and Qantas Group reached (20-May-2020) an agreement for Qantas to bring the operation of its fleet of Boeing 717 aircraft within the Group. National Jet Systems, which holds the AOC for the aircraft and is the employing entity for approximately 380 employees operating the Boeing 717s, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group. QantasLink CEO John Gissing said Cobham Australia's strategic review, which commenced in mid-2019, provided an opportunity for the two parties to reassess the operating model for the Boeing 717 fleet. The agreement is not material for Qantas and replaces a 10 year contract for services signed in 2016. The transition is on track to be completed in the coming months. [more - original PR]
