Christchurch Airport agrees to allow Uber to operate at airport

5 September, 2018

Christchurch Airport and Uber reached an agreement to allow the ridesharing company to pick up passengers at the airport (Stuff, 04-Aug-2018). Under the agreement, passengers will pay a NZD5.50 (USD3.60) surcharge to be picked up from the airport's Express Park facility, located approximately 100m from the terminal. As previously reported by CAPA, negotiations between Christchurch Airport and Uber stalled in 2017 due to the ridesharing app not requiring its drivers to comply with New Zealand Transport Agency guidelines.
