Chinese spending accounts for more than half of increase international tourism spend in Australia

Australia's Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment Steven Ciobo reported (18-Jul-2018) Chinese nationals represented Australia's largest international tourism market by visitor spending for the year to Mar-2018. Chinese spending rose 13% year-on-year in the period to AUD10.9 billion (USD8.1 billion). This accounted for 52% of the total growth in spending by international tourists for the 12 month period.
