China Southern Airlines and Qatar Airways sign codeshare agreement

China Southern Airlines and Qatar Airways announced (19-Sep-2019) a codeshare agreement which will allow China Southern passengers to book travel on Qatar Airways' Guangzhou-Doha and Beijing-Doha services, effective 15-Jan-2020. The codeshare agreement is the first step in the strengthening of cooperation between the airlines since Qatar acquired 5% of China Southern in Dec-2018. Qatar Airways entered the China market in 2003 and currently operates 45 weekly frequencies to seven Greater China cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu and Hong Kong.
