14 June, 2018

Choose Chicago stated it is working with United Airlines to attract more Taiwanese tourists as it seeks to expand its tourism market and position itself as a major leisure travel destination (CNA, 13-Jun-2018). The city has been exploring inbound tourism bases outside of its core foreign markets of China, Canada and Japan for the past two years, with Choose Chicago also seeking to promote the destination for MICE purposes. United Airlines senior VP worldwide sales department Dave Hilfman said the company is interested in evaluating Chicago as a possible direct flight destination for Taiwan. "I have never been more excited about the future of United and our two countries doing business together", Mr Hilfman said.
