Chicago Rockford Airport, via its official Facebook and Twitter accounts, announced (23-Jan-2019) a strategic partnership with Leipzig/Halle Airport. Rockford Airport stated: "The partnership will allow both organisations to work together on mutual business development opportunities focusing more specifically on cargo strategies". Cooperation between the airports is expected to include business systems integration, IT expertise sharing, strengthening trade and coordinating market intelligence (freighweek.org, 23-Jan-2019). The partnership may also include the potential launch of direct freighter services.
