After successful Madrid trial NH Mood Room is now installed in Berlin property

A pilot project from NH Hotel Group which began at its NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding hotel in Spain is now being extended to Germany after it debuted the “room of the future” technology at its NH Collection Berlin Mitte. The ‘MoodRoom’ concept, that allows guests to customise their hotel room using a tablet to control lighting, music, curtains and temperature, has been designed around three parameters: personalising guests’ experience, connected technology and sustainability. The hotel group, and partners Signify and CYBEROBICS say guests can regulate the lighting, music and temperature from the tablet, “to adapt the mood to their own tastes”. Users can choose between six main pre-set modes and 19 moods to help them sleep, work and relax better.

Dusit’s Dubai Marina property to upgrade as Princess Residences property

Thai hotel and property development company Dusit International has signed a franchise agreement with Al Masar Hotel Management to upgrade the former Dusit Residence Dubai Marina to the Dusit Princess Residences Dubai Marina. Located at the Marina, a popular tourist destination and preferred residential area just off the Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone, the 146-key property is currently being refurbished and will comprise serviced apartments, holiday homes and residential units in a choice of one, two or three-bedroom configurations. Designed to facilitate business and leisure, the upgraded property will feature meeting facilities, a fully equipped gym, a spa, a wellness-focused restaurant serving healthy and organic foods, and a bakery. Dusit International opened its first hotel in the Middle East more than 15 years ago and today operates five hotels across the region, including three in the GCC – namely Dusit Thani Dubai, Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, and dusitD2 Kenz Dubai. According to its plans, Dusit will have nine hotels in operation in the GCC by the end of the year, including a fourth Dubai property, Dusit Princess Rijas, which is slated to open in 2020.
