And finally… How a shoe in the hotel safe can safeguard your trip home
Airline pilots and flight attendants are frequent travellers and therefore can provide some excellent guidance to avoid pitfalls during travel. Many have used this experience to publish books offering travel insights and one such example, ‘Welcome Aboard!: Cabin Crew Secrets: Answering every question you ever had about flying!’ from Neil Jackson, provides advice for all hotel guests. “If you use the safe in your hotel room put a single shoe (sensible or otherwise) inside it, along with your valuables. Looking for that missing shoe should remind you to empty the safe when you pack to leave,” it explains.
