Accorhotels enters into joint venture with sbe founder to take advantage of its lead in the lifestyle hospitality sector
AccorHotels and sbe Entertainment Group have signed a Letter of Intent and entered into exclusive negotiations for AccorHotels to acquire a 50% stake in sbe, subject to regulatory approval. The move further illustrates the strategy of the hotelier to expand its offering in the luxury lifestyle hospitality segment. AccorHotels will acquire the 50% of sbe’s common equity held in part by Cain International for USD125 million with founder and CEO Sam Nazarian continuing to own the remaining half share. In addition, AccorHotels will invest USD194 million in a new preferred debt instrument. The partnership will allow sbe to leverage AccorHotels’ global hospitality platform while remaining an independent luxury lifestyle operator.
New Travelodge Plus offer brings enhanced product offering for budget hotel chain’s guests
UK budget hotel chain Travelodge says “it’s time to wake up to new kind of Travelodge” as it unveils its new Travelodge Plus concept, an enhanced product offering that will debut this month at its brand new 395-room London City property and will be incorporated across its existing hotel network. The refresh will still “give you all the great value you’d expect from a Travelodge, with added style and comfort,” the company says with new-look rooms that will deliver a ‘budget chic’ style. The changes will also extend to its SuperRooms product that includes added frills such as an armchair, larger desk, ironing boards and a coffee machine, while all Plus properties will also feature a fully licensed Bar Café.
Radisson Hotel Group gets closer to Hainan Airlines with deepened partnership
While Hainan Airlines parent HNA Group may be scaling back its international airline investments it continues to deepen its partnership in the hospitality sector with a deepened relationship with the Radisson Hotel group, which it majority controls. The two companies will begin an extensive strategic cooperation that covers several areas, including a loyalty programme partnership; coordinated marketing and social media campaigns.
Newly designed Residences are set to bring new level of luxury to London market
