Amadeus outlines attribute based booking framework for the hospitality industry
Amadeus, via the company’s official blog, reported (14-May-2019) it expects an attribute based booking framework would enable hotels to get further direct bookings. Key details include:
- Amadeus Hospitality EVP Joe Yousseff urged hotels to “decide what attributes of the room and property add value to the trip and which guests will pay for”. Mr Yousseff stated “smart unbundling” can simplify options for individuals who are overwhelmed with choice. Airline attribute based booking has proven to be successful, with USD65 billion p/a raised in ancillary revenues;
- Systems can be streamlined with staff members knowing what individuals have asked and paid for;
- Hotels are to create “attribute-based trip building” for customers, to personalise and streamline online experiences for the individual and allow for a “better deal”.
