American Airlines to update loyalty programme in collaboration with Hyatt Hotels Corporation
American Airlines announced (05-Mar-2019) plans to update its loyalty programme in collaboration with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, providing elite members in the AAdvantage and World of Hyatt loyalty programmes with more ways to earn miles, points and status when travelling with the airline or staying at a Hyatt hotel. The updated programme will be introduced later in 2019, and will feature the following:
- AAdvantage Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro, Executive Platinum and ConciergeKey members will be able to earn one AAdvantage bonus mile for every eligible dollar spent at qualifying Hyatt properties;
- Invitation-only ConciergeKey members will receive World of Hyatt Globalist status;
- World of Hyatt Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist members will be able to earn one World of Hyatt bonus point for every eligible dollar spent on qualifying American flights.
Accor and sbe to launch iconic Hyde brand in Australia
Accor has chosen Australia as the first Asia Pacific market to expand its partnership with sbe outside of the US and bring its luxury lifestyle hospitality brand, Hyde to its shores following Accor’s acquisition of a 50% stake in sbe in October 2018. Coming to the Gold Coast in March 2019, Hyde Paradiso will be a fashionable playground for an endless summer, inspired by LA’s famous Sunset Strip. The venue will open all day and evolve into an evening lounge and dining experience.

Hotel Chadstone taking reservations, opening November 2019
Hotel Chadstone Melbourne is now accepting reservations with the first guests to check-in for their stay at the city’s newest luxury destination in November 2019. Accor and Vicinity Centres (Vicinity) have unveiled new details around the $130 million project, currently under construction, including its official name, Hotel Chadstone Melbourne, MGallery by Sofitel.
Guests can now reserve rooms via accorhotels.com with the official Hotel Chadstone Melbourne website online in the coming weeks. The 12-storey, 250-room hotel, including rooftop conservatory bar, swimming pool and wellness centre, will offer panoramic views from Port Phillip Bay to the CBD and across the Dandenong Ranges, setting a new benchmark for luxury accommodation outside Melbourne’s centre. The hotel, targeting a five-star rating, is more than halfway through construction with the interior fit-out underway. Every detail of the design has been considered throughout the lobby, function spaces and suites including a bespoke digital art installation upon entry intended to evolve seasonally alongside Chadstone – The Fashion Capital.
