AccorHotels completes its acquisition of a 50% stake in sbe Entertainment Group
AccorHotels and sbe Entertainment Group (“sbe”) announced today the completion of AccorHotels’ acquisition of a 50% stake in sbe. New purpose-built convention centre announced for the Sunshine Coast
Following its AUD100 million purchase of the Novotel Twin Waters Resort in Queensland last month (Sep-2018), The Shakespeare Property Group, today revealed a further commitment to the region, announcing its latest project – a new, purpose-built convention centre for the Sunshine Coast. The AUD8 million Convention Centre will be the destination’s pre-eminent event venue when it opens to local, interstate and international visitors in April 2019. Shakespeare Property Group CEO and Executive Director Yak Yong Quek, has invited Sunshine Coast Mayor Mr Mark Jamieson, Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Simon Latchford and Jess Pugh MP, Member for Mount Ommaney (representing the Hon.Kate Jones, Minister for Innovation and Tourism Industry Development), and AccorHotels Vice President Operations QLD/NT Matt Young to turn the first sod and officially mark the start of construction.
Amadeus completes acquisition of TravelClick
Amadeus, via its official LinkedIn account, announced (Oct-2018) the completion of its acquisition of TravelClick after receiving regulatory approval. The USD1.5 billion cash transaction expands Amadeus’ presence in the hospitality sector with mid sized chains and independent hotels. Amadeus president and CEO Luis Maroto stated: “In a highly fragmented market, Amadeus now has the people and the technology to help all hoteliers rise to the challenge of delivering a great experience for their guests”. TravelClick will become part of Amadeus’ Hospitality customer unit, which will be led by Francisco Pérez-Lozao.
