Visit Sunshine Coast: Westin resort decision a win

Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) has declared the decision by Sunshine Coast Council to approve the Westin integrated resort development a win for the region’s tourism sector and the overall community. The Sunshine Coast Council recently approved the development of the Yaroomba Beach project, which will create a new coastal village just ten minutes from Sunshine Coast Airport comprising a 220 room 5-Star Westin Coolum Resort & Spa, serviced apartments and extensive conference and recreation facilities. The hotel is expected to be completed by 2021. VSC CEO Simon Latchford said: “The go-ahead for the Westin resort is an endorsement of the region’s commitment to sensitive and appropriate tourism development. Councillors deserve high praise for their careful consideration of both the Westin and Badderam resort developments, because while the region is in desperate need for new high-quality tourism accommodation, we also believe that it is essential for projects to be appropriate to the Sunshine Coast’s character.”

Pullman Adelaide reveals plans for an exclusive Executive Lounge

Pullman Adelaide has announced plans for a new Executive Lounge, named The Hindmarsh Club, after the hotel’s location on Hindmarsh Square, will be the first major step in the transformation of Adelaide’s Pullman hotel. Set to launch before the end of 2018, The Hindmarsh Club will be an exclusive up-market offering for the hotel’s executive, corporate, and high-volume return guests where style and luxury meets functionality and sophistication, reflecting the hotel’s repositioning as a luxury hotel. Pullman Adelaide GM Llewellyn Wyeth said the Executive Lounge will be a welcome addition to the 5-star hotel and the Adelaide market.
