Charleston County Aviation Authority CEO Paul Campbell confirmed Charleston International Airport (South Carolina) is expected to be designated a "medium hub" airport by the US FAA due to recent traffic growth (Post and Courier, 02-Jul-2018). The designation will allow the airport to apply for additional airport improvement programme funding.
