Cebu Pacific outlines measures for 'contactless flights'

11 May, 2020

Cebu Pacific announced (11-May-2020) it will introduce the following measures for "contactless flights":

  • Safety on ground: All Cebu Pacific ground staff are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while on duty. Self check in kiosks, check in and bag drop counters and shuttle buses will undergo frequent cleaning and disinfection procedures. Alcohol based hand sanitisers will be stationed at passenger areas for customer and staff use;
  • Self check in and 'no touch' boarding: Passengers are strongly advised to check in online for faster processing and less human contact. Travellers will be expected to come to the airport at least two hours before departure, as check in counters will be closed 60 minutes before departure. Passengers will be required to hold out their boarding passes with the barcode facing the airline staff, for touchless scanning;
  • Inflight experience: Wearing masks will be mandatory for all passengers. Passengers must stow their own carry on bags and will be expected to dispose of their own trash. Middle seats will be kept vacant as much as possible to enable social distancing on board and passengers will not be able to change seats during the flight;
  • Rapid crew testing: Pilots and cabin crew will undergo rapid antibody testing before boarding and will be given PPE and disinfectants for use in the cabin. Operating crew will also be given PPE and will be trained to assist and isolate passengers, if needed;
  • Aircraft cleaning: All aircraft will undergo daily disinfection, including disinfectant misting in the cabin and sanitation of all surfaces in lavatories between flights. Lavatories will also be sanitised every 30 minutes during flights. [more - original PR]
