Cebu Pacific Air to launch Melbourne-Manila service on 14-Aug-2018

Cebu Pacific Air announced (27-Feb-2018) plans to launch three times weekly Melbourne-Manila service on 14-Aug-2018, utilising A330-300 aircraft. The carrier will add 136,406 seats both ways p/a to Melbourne. Melbourne Tullamarine Airport chief of aviation Simon Gandy referred to "significant" demand on the route, driven by the visiting friends and relatives market as well as a growing business traveller market segment. Recent Tourism Australia data reported Filipino visitor numbers to Australia were up 21% in the first five months of 2017, with Mr Gandy noting: "There's no doubt that there's room for this to continue".
