Cebu Pacific: '2019 is the year we accelerate growth'

31 January, 2019

Cebu Pacific president and CEO Lance Gokongwei stated (31-Jan-2019) "2019 is the year we accelerate growth", adding: "We expect capacity to grow from low to mid teens". The airline expects to receive one ATR 72-600, five A320neo and six A321neo aircraft in 2019. The airline noted the 236 seat A321neos will offer 31% more capacity compared to its A320s, which will enable the carrier "to offer more seats and maximise airport slots". The airline also noted the A321neo is capable of operating routes of more than 5000km and up to seven hours, which will allow the carrier "to explore new destinations like India, Russia, northern Japan and other cities in Australia". The airline reached the accumulated 150 million passenger milestone in 2017 and aims to reach 200 million by 2020. [more - original PR]
