30 July, 2020

Cathay Pacific plans to transfer one third of its passenger fleet from Hong Kong for storage, in an effort to preserve assets and operational needs (The Standard, 29-Jul-2020). The first batch of 12 aircraft will be stored at Alice Springs from the week of 27-Jul-2020 and the carrier is in discussions with facilities in other suitable locations. The aircraft being considered for overseas storage come from different fleets and will be for different durations.
