19 June, 2018

Airbus announced (19-Jun-2018) Cathay Pacific took delivery of its first A350-1000 aircraft in Toulouse. Cathay Pacific is the second airline to operate the A350-1000 after Qatar Airways. The aircraft will be deployed on Hong Kong-Washington DC service, the longest route - approximately 17 hours - operated out of Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific chief customer and commercial officer Paul Loo stated: "We already have one of the youngest long haul fleets in the sky, and with the arrival of the A350-1000, our fleet is only going to get younger. The aircraft follows the successful entry of the A350-900 variant which has enabled us to expand our long haul network at a near unprecedented rate". According to the CAPA Fleet Database, Cathay Pacific is slated to receive 19 more A350-1000s. [more - original PR]
