Cathay Pacific says Dublin-HK service performing 'very encouragingly'

9 June, 2019

Cathay Pacific regional head of marketing and sales Europe Edward Fotheringham said the carrier handled around 80,000 passengers between Dublin and Hong Kong in the 12 months it has operated on the route, adding the service is performing "very encouragingly" (The Irish Times, 08-Jun-2019). Mr Fotheringham said that around two thirds of passengers travelling from Ireland are travelling onwards from Hong Kong to destinations in Australasia and the Far East that Cathay serves. He also said forward bookings are growing "significantly", attributing the result to sustainable commercial traffic between the two regions.
