Cathay Pacific and cabin crew union reach agreement on pay adjustment

Cathay Pacific Airways Flight Attendants Union, via its official Facebook account, announced (06-Dec-2018) the union and Cathay Pacific management have reached an agreement which would see a 3% pay increase and a 13th month bonus, while cabin crew on hourly contracts and have worked for the airline for more than seven years without being promoted will get a raise of 8%, effective 01-Jan-2019. Also the agreement, Cathay guarantees that its cabin crew at outport bases will get enough rest while maternity leave will be increased to 14 weeks from 1Q2019. Cathay Pacific Airways Local Staff Union chairperson Chu Yin-cheong said that although the pay adjustment was below their demand for 5%, management promised to consider another adjustment in mid 2019 should operations continue to improve (Hong Kong Economic Journal, 07-Dec-2018).
