CASA completes addressing aviation safety regulation review recommendations

19 December, 2017

Australia's Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) reported (19-Dec-2017) it has considered and addressed all the recommendations made to it in the Aviation Safety Regulation Review of 2014. CASA CEO and director of aviation safety Shane Carmody said the majority of the recommendations related to CASA's performance and function and were endorsed by the Australian Government. A number of recommendations called for CASA input or expertise managed by other agencies. Actions will be taken on two recommendations in 2018: a review of penalties in aviation safety regulations and completion of the remaining parts of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations.
