Cargolux looking to expand into ACMI and 'working with partners to see what synergies can be found'

Cargolux CEO Richard Forson reported the operator is we are looking at what it can do in the ACMI segment and is "working with partners to see what synergies can be found" (theloadstar.com, 26-Apr-2019). Cargolux expects dedicated widebody freighters in service to decline, and other carriers "may be looking at maindeck capacity, but not wanting to invest themselves". Cargolux' core business remains as a scheduled cargo carrier for forwarders according to Mr Forson, with the operator already providing "bridging capacity" to other airlines during periods such as maintenance.
