16 July, 2019

Canada's Minister of Transport Marc Garneau stated he is "surprised" and "disappointed" with Canadian airlines over their objections to the new Air Passenger Protection Regulation, adding: "We feel that we have done our homework very, very carefully in consultation with the airlines and with other stakeholders" (Delta Optimist, 15-Jul-2019). Mr Garneau stated the regulations are expected to "stand up" and will be "very fair to both passengers and to the airlines".
