Cairns Airport restructure sees seven managers accept voluntary redundancies

16 May, 2017

Cairns Airport GM operations Kate McCreery-Carr confirmed seven executive managers accepted voluntary redundancies since Apr-2017 as part of North Queensland Airports' (NQA) restructuring programme (Herald Sun, 16-May-2017). Ms McCreery-Carr stated the restructure will eliminate certain positions and create "some new teams and new positions across the organisation to help bring together previously separate parts of the business". The restructure will also realign existing roles and reassign employees into roles that better suit their expertise. As previously reported by CAPA, the airport also postponed a AUD1 billion (USD750 million) expansion project and choose to focus on maximising existing resources.
