22 January, 2019

Ceske Budejovice Airport aims to begin test flights in summer 2019 in readiness for commercial operations to begin in 2020 (austrianaviation.net/kurier.at, 18/19-Jan-2019). "Since costs in the Czech Republic are 40% to 50% lower than in Western Europe, Budejovice Airport is attractive in the low cost sector", marketing manager Dieter Pammer said, with Tenerife and Gran Canaria reported to be initial destinations served by the airport. Budejovice Airport director Ladislav Ondřich confirmed the airport has not yet received necessary operating licence required for commercial operations to be handled.
