5 November, 2018

Brussels Airlines and CityJet signed an agreement in late Oct-2018 for early replacement of four Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, on wet lease from CityJet until Mar-2019, with four Bombardier CRJ900/1000 aircraft (Belga/De Tijd/luchtvaartnieuws.nl/aviation24.be, 02-Nov-2018). The first CRJ1000 aircraft was introduced on Brussels-Nantes service on 01-Nov-2018. The remaining three will be introduced temporarily over winter 2018/19, with all SSJ100 aircraft to be phased out by 31-Mar-2019. A new two year RFP launched for wet leasing aircraft for Brussels Airlines' regional routes is ongoing and is expected to enter into effect from 31-Mar-2019.
