Brazil ANAC director Ricardo Fenelon, via his personal LinkedIn account, commented (21-May-2019) on the average air fare in Brazil, stating: "This subject is always mentioned [but] it's important to remind that when fares were regulated, the average fare was around BRL700 (USD173.30), it was almost double of what it is today and with a much smaller number of passengers, practically a third of 2018 passengers".
