BRA planning 'not to fulfill' A220 order, instead favouring ATR 72-600: CCO

20 May, 2019

BRA - Braathens Regional Airlines CCO Ulrika Matsgård reported the carrier plans to phase out its fleet of Avro RJ100 aircraft in favour of owned ATR 72-600 equipment (AIN Online, 17-May-2019). She said the carrier may not replace RJ100s with 72-600s one-for-one, arguing: "We still have some spare capacity... there is room to use our existing ATR fleet in a more efficient way". The carrier also chose "not to fulfil the plan of buying Airbus A220s", Ms Matsgård continued.
