Boliviana de Aviacion: 'There are few aircraft certified to operate in the Bolivian altitudes'

Boliviana de Aviacion GM Ronald Casso stated the carrier's operational fleet totals 20 aircraft, while 16 are under leasing contracts (El Deber, 13-May-2019). Mr Casso added that the advantage of leasing is that: "We can change [aircraft] with more ease and bring more modern aircraft". He added that the geography in Bolivia means there are aircraft restrictions: "There are few aircraft certified to operate in the altitudes and meteorologic conditions [presented in Bolivia], for that reason there's not many options for aircraft".
