Boeing studying supply chain and commercial business implications of US-China tariffs

18 June, 2018
Boeing stated it is assessing whether China will engage in "reciprocal action" across its supply chain and commercial business over US tariffs on USD50 billion of goods imported from China, and will "continue to engage with leaders in both countries to urge a productive dialogue to resolve trade differences" (Bloomberg, 16-Jun-2018). Large commercial aircraft imports are not among the initial list of US goods that China intends to apply tariffs on, but the Chinese government stated in Apr-2018 that it would target tariffs on imports of new US-built weighing 15 tonnes to 45 tonnes.
