Boeing comments on 90th year of Australia operations; contributed USD1bn to GDP in FY2016

Boeing, in a study by BIS Oxford Economics, stated (29-Sep-2017) its Australian operations, commemorating their 90th anniversary, reflect the "gold standard" in how the company aims to work with suppliers and partners globally. The study revealed that Boeing contributed around AUD1.3 billion (USD1.0 billion) to Australia's GDP in FY2016 through its 38 locations across the country covering commercial aircraft, defence, services and research and training. Its Australian operations supported 9300 jobs, comprising Boeing's 3000 own employees and staff at the 1500 companies in its Australian supply chain.
