Boeing CEO does not expect 737 MAX issues will alter the timeline for the 777X

31 May, 2019

Boeing chairman, president and CEO Dennis Muilenburg said he does not see any of the issues with the 737 MAX "that will alter the timeline for the 777X", although he acknowledged that it is "possible we will see something that will alter the content of the test programme or how we go about certification and training" (AFP/Aviation Today, 29-May-2019). Boeing is giving priority to ending the grounding of the 737 MAX, but still expects the 777X to enter service in 2020.
