Australia's Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reported (22-May-2020) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia for Mar-2020:

  • Passengers: 1.7 million, -47.5% year-on-year;
  • Available seats: 2.9 million, -34.6%;
  • Cargo: 80,342 tonnes, -18.8%;
  • Flights: 11,470, -32.9%;
  • Aircraft movements: 11,809, -32.6%;
  • Top 10 international carriers:
    • Share of passengers carried:
      • Qantas Airways: 18.6%, +0.4pp;
      • Jetstar Airways: 9.2%, +0.2pp;
      • Air New Zealand: 8.4%, +0.4pp;
      • Emirates Airline: 8.2%, +1.5pp;
      • Singapore Airlines: 8.1%, -0.1pp;
      • Virgin Australia: 7.5%, +0.8pp;
      • Qatar Airways: 5.0%, +2.4pp;
      • Etihad Airways: 2.9%, +0.9pp;
      • Thai Airways: 2.8%, +1.0pp;
      • Malaysia Airlines: 2.8%, +0.4pp;
    • Share of cargo carried:
      • Singapore Airlines: 16.0%, -0.2pp;
