    Australia‘s Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE) reported (11-Jun-2019) the following international traffic highlights to/from Australia for Mar-2019:

    • Passengers: 3.3 million, -2.5% year-on-year;
    • Available seats: 4.5 million, +0.1%;
    • Cargo: 99,034 tonnes, -0.1%;
    • Flights: 17,098, +0.5%;
    • Aircraft movements: 17,536, +0.9%;
    • Top 10 international carriers:
      • Share of passengers carried:
        • Qantas: 18.2%, +1.3ppts;
        • Jetstar: 9.0%, -0.4ppt;
        • Singapore Airlines: 8.2%, +0.4ppt;
        • Air New Zealand: 8.0%, +0.7ppt;
        • Emirates: 6.8%, -1.1ppts;
        • Virgin Australia: 6.7%, +0.7ppt;
        • Cathay Pacific Airways: 4.5%, -0.1ppt;
        • China Southern Airlines: 3.1%, +0.1ppt;
        • Qatar Airways: 2.6%, stable;
        • Malaysia Airlines: 2.3%, +0.3ppt;

        • Singapore Airlines: 16.2%, +0.4ppt;

    BITRE also reported LCCs AirAsia X, Cebu Pacific Air, Indonesia AirAsia, Jetstar, Jetstar Asia and Scoot Tigerair accounted for 14.4% of total international passenger traffic to/from Australia in Mar-2019. LCC share in Mar-2018 was 15.8%.
