Bitcoin Watch – Bitcoin soars almost 25% to finish the week just under USD10,000

Bitcoin's price soared on Friday approximately 22% to finish the week on USD9,677.32. There has been much speculation around the world as to the cause of such a dramatic increase with analysts attributing the rise to a range of occurrences. The most popular theory relates to an announcement by Chinese President Xi Jinping, which said the country would be investing heavily in blockchain, the technology which forms the basis of Bitcoin.
