Beijing Daxing International Airport: Four airlines operate test flights

Beijing Daxing International Airport, via its official WeChat account, announced (13-May-2019) four test flights on 13-May-2019. The test flights were operated by Air China with a Boeing 747-8 aircraft, China Eastern Airlines with an A350-900, Xiamen Airlines with a 787-9 (B-1356) and China Southern Airlines with an A380. Xiamen Airlines stated Hebei Airlines will become the first of a batch of airlines to transition to the new Beijing Daxing Airport when the airport opens on 30-Sep-2019. Xiamen Airlines will move to the new airport in Mar-2020. Xiamen Airlines reiterated it will base 17 aircraft at Beijing Daxing in 2020, expanding to 30 aircraft by 2025 and to 50 aircraft, including subsidiary airlines. China Eastern plans to base 180 to 200 aircraft at the airport by 2025, operating more than 650 daily services, while China Southern plans to base more than 200 aircraft and operate more than 900 daily services at the airport.
