BDL calls for improved pax transfer and baggage processes to shift domestic air traffic to rail

German Aviation Association (BDL) called on the German rail industry to improve passenger rail connections and baggage processes to allow the shift of more domestic air traffic to rail (aero.de/airliners.de, 16-Aug-2019). BDL’s MD Matthias von Randow said the industry has a “great interest in ensuring that the shift succeeds”, however rail has to improve transfer processes feeding German airport hubs and baggage check-in options from rail stations.
