Azul president revises growth projections for 2018 following truck drivers strike

Azul president John Rodgerson stated the truck drivers strike in Brazil has caused the carrier to revise projections for 2018 (Aero Latin News, 20-Jun-2018). Mr Rodgerson said the carrier is now anticipating capacity of growth of 17% compared to 20% prior to the strike. He added: "Four months ago, we thought the year would be incredible. Revenue and demand are still higher than last year, but the scenario has changed". As previously reported by CAPA, Azul reported the truck driver's protest strike between 25-May-2018 and 30-May-2018 impacted it's operating result by BRL50 million (USD13.3 million).
