Azul incorporates maiden Embraer E195-E2 from AerCap

Azul incorporated (12-Sep-2019) the first Embraer E195-E2 aircraft on 12-Sep-2019, on operating lease from AerCap. Azul will receive another five aircraft until the end of 2019 and has a total of 51 firm orders. Azul's E2s are powered by Pratt & Whitney GTF engines. The aircraft has 136 seats, including 28 extra legroom seats with 33in seat pitch. Each seat includes IFE and individual power outlets. Embraer stated that flight tests indicated that the aircraft has a better than its original specification, with 1.4% lower fuel consumption than initially expected. Embraer and Azul also signed a long term Flight Hour Pool Program agreement to provide repairable component support for the carrier's new fleet of E2 jets.
