Avior Airlines receives licence from Venezuela to operate markets vacated by Santa Barabara Airlines

    Avior Airlines supplemented (23-Mar-2018) its application for an amended exemption with the US Department of Transportation. The carrier advised Santa Barbara Airlines, the sole Venezuelan carrier on MiamiCaracas route, has exited the market and suspended all operations. This leaves the “still important” market without a Venezuelan flag carrier, Avior said. The carrier added Venezuela‘s government has granted Avior a licence to serve the routes vacated by Santa Barbara Airlines. Avior urged the US agency to “expeditiously” approve the amended exemption.
