Avianca to transfer ATRs to start up Regional Express Americas

Avianca Holdings CFO Roberto Held, via the carrier's 4Q2018 financial results call, commented (22-Feb-2019) on Regional Express Americas, stating the proposed regional start up will use aircraft removed from "non-profitable routes to profitable routes in Colombia". Avianca Holdings EVP Gerardo Grajales stated: "We want to compete in these regional market in a profitable way". The carrier will operate in small cities in which Avianca does not serve, "and we will expect our profitability to be in the range of 12% to 15% of EBITDA margin". The company will operate with ATRs from Avianca.
