Avia Solutions Group: Long range narrowbodies opening new secondary city route opportunities

7 June, 2018

Avia Solutions Group chairman Gediminas Ziemelis reported (07-Jun-2018) the levels of efficiency and range offered by the new generation of narrowbodies such as the A321LR and Boeing 737 MAX allow these aircraft "not only compete in a market once solely dominated by widebodies but to also fulfil a niche that has clear demand". Mr Ziemelis stated that the "new era" of long range narrowbody aircraft means long haul services are no longer limited from hubs to secondary cities, but can also open up secondary cities to other secondary cities. In addition, the lower seating capacity of these aircraft also allows them to maintain profitability flying on niche routes and operating flights off peak hours. [more - original PR]
