Austrian Airlines aims to achieve climate neutral growth as of 2020

    Austrian Airlines announced (06-Dec-2019) plans to achieve carbon neutral growth as of 2020, within the framework of the CORSIA agreement. The initiative will focus on three pillars, namely fleet modernisation, fuel savings and CO2 compensation. Passengers will also be able to compensate for their flights. CCO Andreas Otto commented: “Passengers can also compensate for the CO2 emissions of their flights… but unfortunately only less than 1% of all passengers have actually done so up until now”.
