Austrian Airlines achieves business results ‘at the break even point’ in 1H2018

    Austrian Airlines stated (31-Jul-2018) it managed to “achieve business results at the break even point” in 1H2018, particularly after a “strong” 2Q2018 performance. Adjusted EBIT amounted to -EUR3 million, whereas EBIT was at EUR1 million. “The year-on-year earnings decline is mainly attributable to two factors… increased prices for jet fuel and higher expenses for flight irregularities resulting from thunderstorms, airspace restrictions as well as works meetings in Mar-2018”, Austrian said.
